The first ever jet suit race took place in Dubai. The pilots lined up on the runway in Dubai and fired up seven jet engines with a deafening roar. But they were not preparing to fly on an airplane—they were “the airplane” themselves, AP reports.
They looked like Iron Man, the Marvel comics character made world famous by actor Robert Downey Jr.
At the races, pilots wore 1,500-horsepower jet suits, more powerful than most luxury sports cars, and used the same type of fuel used by the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 jets.
